Update on Mental Health Act reform

Readers keen to find out more on the timing of the Mental Health Bill and whether it will be introduced in the 2021-22 Parliamentary session will be interested to read the Department of Health and Social Care’s recent response to a written question.

According to the Department, the public consultation on Reforming the Mental Health Act White Paper ended on 21 April 2021 and a formal report, which will inform the development of the planned Mental Health Bill, will be published later in 2021. So does this mean 2022?
