NHSX publishes a buyer’s guide to AI in health and care

10 questions for making informed procurement decisions about Artificial Intelligence products

The use of Artificial Intelligence or AI is expanding fast. Its use is already impacting positively on our health and care system from supporting diagnostic solutions to medical imaging. The healthtech and medtech sector is one of many fields where application of AI technology is growing - and the pandemic has driven this as we have seen with the uptake of digital solutions, including the development of an AI based technology for fast-track infection testing.

The possibilities presented by AI technologies is hugely exciting. But deciding whether a specific AI product is right for your health and care organisation is not simple. Equally difficult is working out the differences between similar technologies and ensuring they are safe and effective. To support buyers in this process NHSX has published, A Buyer’s Guide to AI in Health and Care outlining ten questions to consider. This guide is a must read for health and care organisations making procurement decisions about products that use AI.

Do get in touch if you require support with your healthtech and medtech projects from commissioning AI projects to regulatory issues.
