Governance and partnerships

Governance arrangements are a key factor in an organisations’ ability to function and achieve its goals. We help our clients innovate, make successful partnerships and mitigate regulatory and other risks.

Our experience

From public/private to joint ventures, prime contractor and alliance models we help you challenge assumptions, collaborate and hit the ground running in new markets, or as new organisations.

Our clients

We advise on health-specific governance challenges, for example Foundation Trust applications and mergers, CCG federations, and securing and keeping CCQ registrations and monitor provider licences. Our team is a recognised leader in this dynamic and complex area of law, regularly advising on ground-breaking national initiatives:

  • Working with a foundation trust and a private clinic to create a heart clinic within the foundation trust’s hospital to undertake private and NHS work
  • Creating innovative joint ventures combining treatment, research and public health in the UK and overseas
  • Supporting the first High Secure mental health trust on achieving Foundation Trust equivalency and then to authorisation as a Foundation Trust
  • Developing the blueprint for TCS transactions – over 40 of which we subsequently advised on
  • Establishing a novel shared services company owned by a council and two NHS bodies, serving the owners and a range of other customers including schools, academies and GPs
