What can I do for you?

I head our fast growing multi-disciplinary life sciences team.

I advise businesses and organisations in the life sciences sector on intellectual property issues and commercial contracting, with longstanding and deep knowledge of research and technology collaborations, intellectual property licensing and the distribution of medical and medicinal products. I also advise on regulatory issues relevant to the sector, such as product classification and advertising. My clients include pharmaceutical and biotech businesses, medical device and technology businesses, universities, charities, research institutes and government organisations.

Supporting my clients’ ambitions

Recent highlights for me have included supporting a global pharmaceutical company on its international distribution arrangements for two drug candidates, patent issues and supply chain structures, including advising on a range of distribution and licensing transactions and manufacturing, pharmacovigilance, market access, logistics, packaging and labelling, and serialisation agreements. It has been great to support this business from start-up through to commercialisation.

I have also recently supported a medical research charity on a ground-breaking collaboration for the creation of a biobank, with associated disease database, with a range of industry, academic, NHS and charity partners. The transaction was complex, including dealing with a range of regulatory issues, and involved overseas partners, and it was great to see this project start with the aim of delivering real patient benefits in time.

What do others say?

I have been ranked as a leading lawyer for many years in the main UK legal directories.

Chambers and Partners (2017) says that I am noted for my capabilities as a commercial and transactional IP adviser. I am "approachable and extremely knowledgeable," say clients.

The Legal 500 (2017) says that I provide “excellent pragmatic support”.

Our life sciences practice is market-leading and is described by the Legal 500 as “providing excellent service at reasonable rates”.
