Neera Malde

Principal Associate

What can I do for you

Neera has been at Mills & Reeve since September 2006, working in the London insurance team specialising in complex professional indemnity defence litigation. Her practice includes the defence of claims against a wide range of professionals specialising in accountants, solicitors and other financial professionals. She is an active member of the Mills & Reeve's national Accountants Team and is known as an expert on accountants’ professional liability, especially involving tax mitigation. She also has a vast amount of experience defending architects, engineers and surveyors and deals with matters in different jurisdictions.

Supporting your ambitions

Neera enjoys working in a high paced, litigious environment where she is required to turn work around swiftly, yet maintain a high standard for professional clients. Her project management skills come to the fold, especially in multi party actions with numerous complex issues over numerous jurisdictions. She is able to deal with a variety of different professionals, getting quickly to grips with the nature of their business and own commercial relationships. Neera's experience has been amplified through two secondments as a senior claims adjuster at leading insurers in 2011 and 2015/2016.

What do others say

Clients say Neera is extremely pro-active, reliable, approachable and understands their commercial needs. She produces clear, “jargon free” advice quickly and gets straight to the point. Clients have endorsed that Neera is a safe pair of hands, especially when it comes to project managing complex litigation, given she is always “on the ball and ahead of the game”.

What else should you know

Neera co-chairs one of the firm’s diversity and inclusion networks, PACT, which builds supportive community for parents and carers at the firm.

Interestingly, Neera was trained as a classical Indian dancer, although is now instead an avid gym goer to work off the copious amount of eating she undertakes. She has two daughters and lives in London.
