Join us for the next webinar in our People Matters series focusing on important employment issues for higher education institutions. These sessions are for HR teams, senior management and in-house lawyers at higher education institutions.
Natasha Brown and Ben Willcock will discuss the key legal and practical issues that arise when dealing with whistleblowing in the workplace and the particular challenges these can present for higher education institutions.
This session will provide a practical overview of the whistleblowing framework, including how to identify when concerns may amount to a protected disclosure, where whistleblowing concerns intersect with freedom of speech, distinguishing whistleblowing from personal grievances and managing whistleblowing investigations. We will consider the Governmentās current consultation on whistleblowing reform and its potential implications for the HE sector.
We will also consider some of the common pitfalls that can give rise to whistleblowing claims and the steps institutions can take to reduce the risk of detriment and dismissal claims.
