What can I do for you
James is a partner in our insurance disputes team, and leads our national Insurance Brokers and Intermediaries practice. James and the team act for a wide range of broking, MGA and other intermediary businesses and their insurers, from global consolidators to SMEs, advising on disputes and supporting long term risk management. He has significant experience of litigation, arbitration, complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service and alternative dispute resolution.
James also advises insurers in relation to policy coverage matters including disclosure issues and insurers’ remedies, disputes between insurers, fraud and dishonesty, notification issues and the aggregation of claims.
Supporting your ambitions
James works closely with in-house legal, compliance, insurance and risk teams, supporting clients through both in-person and online risk management training, and ad hoc day to day support.
He also manages a helpline for one of the UK's largest professional indemnity insurers of insurance brokers, giving him a unique perspective on the risk management challenges facing brokers and insurance intermediaries. A significant part of his work focuses on early intervention, helping brokers present effective arguments, secure payment of underlying claims and avoid disputes wherever possible.
