What can I do for you

Ben is a principal associate in the litigation team. His commercial litigation practice includes complex contractual disputes, claims concerning breach of fiduciary duty, and shareholder disputes. 

His estate, trust and will disputes practice includes probate claims, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, breach of trust claims, and removal claims.

He also helps clients to resolve reputation management issues, including pre-publication advice and defamation claims.

Supporting your ambitions

 Ben's recent work includes:

  • Bringing a successful court application which allowed a government department to proceed with the award of a £350m contract and 4 related contracts (total value c £1.8bn).
  • Advising a client on a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 against the estate of her late husband, a businessman with assets, pensions and trusts in numerous jurisdictions around the world.
  • Advising an expert determiner on the proper interpretation of a business transfer agreement for the sale of assets between two banks.
  • Acting in Equiom (Isle of Man) Ltd v Velarde [2022] EWHC 11 (Ch), a claim concerning whether a Will revoked an earlier deed of appointment relating to an Isle of Man trust.
  • Acting for the successful applicants in Parris v Ajayi [2021] EWHC 285 (QB), in which the Court struck out a malicious falsehood claim in the employment context.
