Economic crime investigations

We help our clients to ascertain and manage the (often significant) risks involved in economic crime investigations and support them to address and resolve any issues identified.

Fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering – these are the types of issues that can keep our clients up at night.

When concerns are identified, we work to support our clients from the outset, to protect their interests and to put in place a framework for next steps. We appreciate that an investigation can affect, disrupt and concern all parts of an organisation. We have significant experience navigating reputational and confidentiality concerns, and managing sensitive issues, stakeholders, witnesses and authorities.

We keep reporting concerns under review at all stages, whether it’s a report to the police, the National Crime Agency, the Serious Fraud Office or another authority or regulator.

Once the investigation stage is complete, we focus on remediation, including improved governance and, where applicable, compensation.

Our lawyers

Our experienced team includes criminal, regulatory and civil lawyers who are well-placed to advise on both the investigation itself and any related aspects (eg employment, litigation, data protection, governance etc.). We understand that different clients across different sectors can have different priorities, and we tailor our approach to fit.

Our lawyers have experience acting for a broad range of clients, including, for example:
