What can I do for you?

I qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and since then I have spent my career advising Family Offices, sports people and wealthy UK and international individuals and their families on their wealth structuring, tax, trusts and estates. This involves advice on inheritance and capital gains tax planning and also helping to protect family assets by creating suitable structures for future generations. My clients include the owners of substantial businesses, internationally-renowned sports people, landowners, trusts and charities. I am a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and of Solicitors for the Elderly, and I often act as a trustee for my clients.

Supporting my clients’ aims

I really enjoy helping my clients to achieve their aims, be it minimising a tax liability or arranging their affairs to ensure effective succession planning. For example, I recently helped a top sportsman create a structure to receive income for the benefit of his future children in  tax-efficient manner. I have also advised a large Family Office with a restructuring prior to a corporate sale. This not only helped to reduce the tax burden but also enabled members of the family to provide for future generations each in their own way. I also enjoy advising non-UK residents who are coming to the UK to work, in sectors such as technology and sport.

What do others say about me?

We are delighted that our team has been recognised at a number of industry awards, but I am most proud when our clients are positive about our contribution to their affairs. One client recently told me that he was grateful for the work we had done and that he “always trusted Mills & Reeve to get it right.”

I have been recognised as a leading lawyer by Citywealth and Spears as well as being recommended in both Legal 500, where I am described as a leading individual who is "very meticulous in complex issues" (Legal 500, 2016) and Chambers, where I am a leading practitioner about whom clients say I am "an excellent lawyer" (Chambers, 2017).

What else should you know?

I enjoy competing in duathlon and triathlon and have represented Great Britain at World and European Championships. I have recently been chair of local charity the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, and vice-chair of national charity The Silver Line. I like to keep up to date with social media and you can follow me on Twitter using the button below my photo on the right of this page or find me at
