Covid-19: Mental Health Act and the exercise of approval instructions

The Department of Health and Social Care has published two sets of supplementary instructions with regard to the approval of approved clinicians or section 12 (2) doctors. The supplementary instructions are now in force.

Essentially an approving body may extend the period of approval for 12 months where the applicant has not completed a training course because the necessary training course is not available.
