Adult Social Care Technology Fund now receiving applications

The Government has launched the Adult Social Care Technology Fund which supports the implementation of care technology in adult social care (ASC). The Government’s vision was first outlined in the White Paper: People at the Heart of Care published in December 2021; you can read our blog on the White Paper here.

The funding on offer is to help implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care technology in ASC which can be shown to contribute to support one or more of the following key priorities:

  • Increase care quality and safety (including safe discharge from hospital)
  • Reduce avoidable admission/readmissions to hospital
  • Increase support for people to live independently in their own home

The ASC Technology Fund will be available through ICSs and you can find out more about what is going on in your ICS here.

The Department for Health and Social Care is committed to providing funding to ensure 80% of CQC registered providers have a digital care record by March 2024. If you are a registered ASC provider and want to find out how you can access funding to implement a digital social care record, you can select your ICS region here.
