New Vice-President for the Court of Protection

Mr Justice Hayden’s term as Vice-President has come to a conclusion with his successor, Mrs Justice Theis taking over the reigns of leadership although he will continue to sit regularly in the Court of Protection. He stepped down officially on 13 February 2023 from his role which covered the Covid-19 pandemic. During his tenure, the Court has seen several changes to the operation of proceedings in terms of remote advocacy, the use of electronic bundles and a degree of hybrid working.

Mrs Justice Theis’s appointment has been made by the Lord Chief Justice on the recommendation of the President of the Family Division and following consultation with the Lord Chancellor.
