ICSs and their Integrated Care Boards go-live

Today (1 July 2022) 42 Integrated Care Boards across England will be established under the Health and Care Act 2022. This is the culmination of months of hard work with CCGs working with designate ICB leaders. CCGs who have been the main budget holders since 2013 have now been abolished – and in their place, Integrated Care Boards will perform this role from today.

We have also seen provider collaboratives take shape across the new health and care system, with all NHS trusts providing acute and mental health services required to be part of a provider collaborative from 1 July.

Our team of health and care lawyers have created a range of dedicated resources to help provide answers and guidance on a variety of legal issues specifically for professionals working at system, place-based or neighbourhood levels.
