Update: procurement law reform

Earlier this year, we held an online webinar looking at the Green Paper on Transforming Public Procurement where we discussed some of the changes proposed to the public procurement regime in the UK. If you would like to see the webinar and understand more about the suggested changes, you can view a recording of it here.

The government has included procurement law reform in the recent Queen's Speech, setting out the legislative agenda for this parliament. We understand that a draft of the proposed new Regulations - that will amend or replace the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 - will be made available for consultation in Autumn 2021, suggesting that in 2022 we may well be working to a new set of procurement rules.

We will update this blog when we know more, but clearly this will be a major shift in the procurement landscape for all practitioners, authorities and tenderers alike. You can subscribe to our RSS feeds to make sure you don't miss an update.
