Autumn update: CQC announces new assessments starting from 21 November

The announcement follows the CQC’s summer update confirming that providers in the south would be the first to be assessed using the Single Assessment Framework. From 21 November CQC will start using the new assessments in the south.

Between 21 November and 4 December CQC will undertake a small number of planned assessments with early adopter providers. They will then expand their new assessment approach to all providers based on a risk.

Providers operating in the south can expect to hear from CQC and those providers in other counties will hear separately from the CQC when the new inspection framework will apply to them.

In its announcement, CQC confirm that "...our new assessment approach will not apply to NHS trust well-led assessments and services we do not rate. We will be in contact with those providers soon with more detail."

If you are a care provider and would like support with getting ready for the new assessment framework do get in touch - we have an expert and friendly team ready to help.
