Football Leaks: what are the legal consequences/options?

While it can be extremely difficult to contain information once it has been leaked, there are a number of opportunities to potentially seek redress.

In light of confidential football documents being published by the website “Football Leaks” – many of which appear to have been accessed unlawfully – and subsequently reported on by several newspapers, we briefly consider the legal actions available in the UK to a football player/club where details of playing contracts/image rights deals (or extracts of the same) have been leaked/published.
