Five new partnership promotions

Mills & Reeve will boost its number of partners to 135 with the promotion of five principal associates on 1 June 2021.

The five new partners are based in the Birmingham, Cambridge, London and Leeds offices of the law firm.

Frances Churchard will be made up to partner in the banking team, Lucy Howard in the regulatory, public & commercial disputes team and Liam Burnett, Lisa Taylor and Tom Filby in the insurance team.

Frances is a specialist banking & finance lawyer focusing on complex corporate finance for borrowers and government finance. She excels at creating innovative solutions to complex financing requirements.

Lucy is an expert in the firm’s estate, trust and will disputes team. She specialises in complex will and probate disputes, trust litigation, removal of executors and trustees, and contentious Court of Protection matters.

Liam is a professional indemnity insurance and commercial disputes litigator. He specialises in defending claims against accountants, financial advisers, insurance brokers, solicitors and technology companies and has a fast growing D&O practice.

Lisa is a lawyer in our insurance team and represents insurers and their insureds who are facing professional negligence claims. Lisa specialises in defending and resolving claims against a wide range of professionals, with particular expertise in claims against lawyers and financial professionals.

Tom is an insurance and commercial disputes lawyer, advising on claims across a range of policies relating to corporate entities and their managers, from Commercial & Cyber Crime to Directors & Officers’ liability. Supported by strong relationships with our best friend firms worldwide, much of Tom’s work has an International dimension.
