Armed with a mission to reduce the incidence and impact of sporting injury in 11 to 18 year olds, Podium Analytics has secured several research partnerships and collaborations to identify the causes of injury and preventative solutions at youth level.
As part of its research, Podium Analytics has developed an injury insight platform which is being provided free to schools to enable teachers, coaches and sports medics to log and monitor injury data. The platform provides an important interface for recording incidents and communicating between schools, staff and parents. Podium aims to be operating in 200 schools this year before rolling out nationwide.
The dataset will be made available in an anonymised basis to researchers within the Podium Analytics Institute for Youth Sports Medicine and Technology at the University of Oxford, who will deploy the latest AI and modelling techniques to identify causes and potential preventative measures against injury.
Podium Analytics is collaborating with England Hockey and the Rugby Football Union and is seeking to extend its partnerships with other sporting bodies.
The Mills & Reeve IP/IT team has advised Podium Analytics on the data collection process, anonymisation of sports-injury data, and collaboration and data access agreements with England Hockey and the Rugby Football Union.
