Mills & Reeve appointed to national legal framework for universities and research institutions

We have been appointed to the new London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) framework for legal services.

The result recognised the strength of the firm’s quality across all areas of the framework, showcasing legal expertise and deep knowledge of the higher education, research and charities sector.

The LUPC consortium, a not-for-profit organisation owned by its members, aims to get the best value for its 74 full members, made up of universities and colleges, government agencies, research organisations and museums and other cultural establishments.

Gary Attle, partner and head of Education and Governance at Mills & Reeve, said: “The LUPC framework provides a flexible mechanism for universities, research institutes and cultural bodies to obtain the best legal services to suit their needs. We are delighted to continue providing advice and support to our clients on the renewed framework.

“We are particularly pleased that our bid clearly demonstrated what we can offer to LUPC members as we scored the maximum across all lots in our response to the challenges facing these organisations. We invest in knowing our clients and their business, and the feedback demonstrates that we have the expertise and insight to help guide them through an increasingly complicated legal and business landscape.”

LUPC worked with the English and Welsh higher education sector procurement consortia (North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium, North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium, Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium and Higher Education Purchasing Consortium Wales) to establish a Framework Agreement for the provision of legal services at national level.
