The team won the Business and Professional Services to football award after being the only law firm in the region to have made the final.
The annual awards, which took place at Lancashire County Cricket Club, pay tribute to and recognise those who achieved footballing excellence both on and off the field in the 2018/19 season.
It has been an excellent year for the Mills & Reeve team, which advises football players and clubs including Premier League players. The team is also a trailblazer in helping sportswomen. They have worked with the England women’s football team – including captain and Manchester City player Steph Houghton - the England netball team, the Ladies European Tour in golf as well as other leading sportswomen.
Earlier this year, the team launched The Equalizer – a bespoke sports law package to help support growth and “level the playing field” for women in sport.
Carol Couse, a partner in the sports team, said: “We are thrilled to have won the award which highlights the commitment and passion of our team to the sport, and to be recognised for our services to football ends a fantastic year for the team.
“We are particularly proud of our continued contribution to the women’s game and look forward to helping female stars of today and tomorrow achieve their goals both on and off the pitch.”
