Mills & Reeve Christmas charity donation

As a firm we were directly touched by the terrible events at Fishmongers’ Hall at the end of November and the tragic deaths of Jack Merritt and Saskia Jones.

Both Jack and Saskia were involved in the Learning Together programme, which organised the event at Fishmongers’ Hall, run through the University of Cambridge. This brings together offenders and those in higher education "to study alongside each other" in equal partnership. It is designed to break down prejudices and create new possibilities for all of those who take part.

Justin Ripman, Mills & Reeve senior partner, said: "The location of our new London office meant that some staff witnessed what happened on London Bridge and our significant presence in Cambridge and our involvement with the University of Cambridge means we have felt the deep pain of that entire community at the loss of two such talented and much loved students. We therefore felt that Learning Together was an ideal cause to support at this time.

"The donation to Crisis is consistent with the Trust's continued focus on trying to help relieve homelessness which always seems particularly stark in the lead up to Christmas."
