In the International Deal category, the acquisition of Norfolk-based Anglia Maltings by Canada's biggest grain merchant, Richardson International, won the award. The judges were impressed that plans to grow the Anglia Maltings business will result in the workforce being increased over the coming months and years.
Elsewhere, the investment in Cambridge-based Cambrionix by the Foresight East of England Fund took the award for Deal of The Year (sub £10m).
The wins followed the corporate team in the Manchester office scooping the Mid-size Law Firm of the Year accolade at the North West Dealmakers Awards. The judges said it was the combination of growth in fee income and noted that the range of deals in type and complexity was impressive.
James Hunter, head of corporate at Mills & Reeve, said: “These are excellent wins against really strong competition. The awards demonstrate the breadth of our expertise across M&A and private equity both in the UK and internationally.”
