We're proud to announce that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved our near-term and long-term emissions reduction targets as of April 2025. This approval aligns us with the ambitious goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2050.
In our commitment to environmental sustainability, we will adhere to SBTi's recommendations by focusing on improving data quality and calculation methodologies. We'll particularly emphasise refining data collection methods to replace spend-based data with primary data.
Additionally, in collaboration with the Legal Sustainability Alliance, we're leading industry-wide innovations to reduce emissions from business travel and commuting. By working together, we aim to foster sustainable practices across the legal sector.
Jessica Wilkes-Ball, head of sustainability and net zero at Mills & Reeve, commented: "We’re proud of our commitment to sustainability and the approval of our targets by SBTi. This milestone reflects our ongoing efforts to ensure accurate and reliable data in our journey towards net zero.”
We've committed to reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2025, as well as:

- Further committing to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions beyond the minimum boundary from business travel and employee commuting 33% within the same timeframe
