Short stay specialist Bloc Hotels acquired by Arora Group

Mills & Reeve has supported the shareholders of Bloc Hotels, which specialises in developing, owning, and operating high-quality, short-stay hotels in prime locations, on the sale to Arora Group.

The purchase includes the 245-bedroom Bloc Gatwick and the 105-bedroom Bloc Birmingham, along with two further sites in the UK that are yet to be developed. By acquiring Bloc Hotels, the Arora Group can improve its portfolio diversification and further strengthens the group as the hotel operator of choice at Gatwick.

The transaction was led by Thilo Schneider (corporate) and Joanne Davies (real estate), supported by Kim Lindsay-Smith, Emma Purton, James Larking and Carrie Ferris.

Thilo Schneider, partner at Mills & Reeve, said: “We are proud to have supported the shareholders of Bloc Hotels on this significant transition and to have helped Rob and the team to realise the value of their hard work over the years. The acquisition by Arora Group not only marks a new chapter for Bloc Hotels but also underscores the strength and potential of the hospitality sector.”

Rob Morgan, the founder and former MD of Bloc, said: “Bloc Hotels is pleased to announce the next chapter in its journey, as the Arora Group - renowned for its deep hospitality expertise and family-driven values - takes the helm. I am grateful to Mills & Reeve for their support on this transaction. Thilo and the team demonstrated commercial insight and legal acumen, and their responsiveness was outstanding. Every query was met with prompt, thoughtful advice and I couldn’t have asked for better support.”
