Ambitious tech companies across Yorkshire have been sharing their stories of success following the conclusion of Top Tech Yorkshire 2025, our programme designed to accelerate growth and innovation in the region’s thriving tech sector.
Yorkshire is a recognised tech powerhouse, with the Leeds tech sector growing 125% faster than the national average and wider West Yorkshire home to 9,700 tech businesses. South Yorkshire’s tech sector value has surged 700% in the last decade, meanwhile, reaching £3bn in 2024.
Top Tech Yorkshire connects high-potential tech businesses with a network of expert mentors – from investors and peers to accelerators and service providers – to support their growth ambitions. The intensive six-month programme delivers profile-raising opportunities, networking, and tailored mentorship, fostering a collaborative ecosystem that drives both individual business and wider regional sector success.
The 2025 cohort was made up of 24 tech innovators including Globally Linked, a Leeds-based edtech startup which blends AI-personalised learning journeys with hands on STEM kits, offline robotics workshops, and green tech challenges designed for children aged 5-11.
Hawa Kandeh, founder and CEO of Globally Linked, said: “Building a scalable edtech company comes with complex challenges, from legal structures and IP to investor readiness. Top Tech Yorkshire 2025 gave us the expertise and confidence to navigate these challenges early on. With the right foundations in place, we’re moving from concept to pilots across the UK and Spain, ready to deliver innovative AI-powered learning worldwide.”
Other participants include Huddersfield-based AREOI, which is revolutionising the world of website creation by harnessing cutting-edge automation and AI to automate 90% of the design and development process, and Bloojam Consulting, a Harrogate company that blends behavioural science with data analytics to deliver powerful insights that enhance sales team performance.
Jim Bloomfield, director at Bloojam Consulting, said: “Top Tech Yorkshire has given me valuable access to experts whose advice has already benefitted my company. I've also enjoyed networking with peers on the programme, as well as the expert mentors from across the wider tech ecosystem in Yorkshire.”
Alex Newman, intellectual property partner at Mills & Reeve, added: “Yorkshire’s tech community is brimming with extraordinary innovation and ambition – from early-stage disruptors to established scale-ups shaping global technology. Top Tech Yorkshire is all about building a community that supports, connects, and celebrates these businesses. This year’s cohort has been exceptional, and we’re excited to continue championing the talent that drives the Yorkshire tech scene forward.”
The next edition of Top Tech Yorkshire launches later this year. In the meantime, you can explore the latest report or register for updates on when the application process opens.
