Andrew is a leading London Market insurance, reinsurance and commercial disputes lawyer. He has represented insurers and reinsurers for 25 years, in almost all classes of business, in over 30 countries.
Typical first party instructions include UK and international property, specie, marine, energy, construction all risks, engineering, mining, machinery breakdown, A&H, financial institutions.
Andrew is head of our political risk, trade credit and political violence insurance practice, and was co author of War Risks & Terrorism (Insurance Institute of London, 2007).
In liability lines, Andrew has advised on most classes, in the UK and internationally, including in particular, product, professional, and marine liability disputes, usually with an emphasis on coverage and / or monitoring.
Andrew cut his teeth in reinsurance disputes and advises on facultative and treaty reinsurance coverage.
Much of Andrew's work has international aspects, and he enjoys working with overseas lawyers.

Andrew worked for 8 years at US firms and is well used to assisting overseas lawyers with English legal issues, including with the taking of depositions and evidence under the Hague Convention and UK Evidence (Proceedings in Other Jurisdictions) Act.
Andrew originally qualified first as as a barrister in 1999, graded "very competent". He qualified also as a Solicitor-Advocate in 2002 and now practises as a solicitor.

Andrew has a BA Russian & East European History at UCL's School of Slavonic & E. European Studies, MA in Modern History at UCL, and studied Russian language and culture at St Petersburg University, Russia for year.
