What can I do for you
Chris is a litigation specialist within our insurance disputes practice. He resolves complex and high-value injury claims. Chris also protects businesses and individuals facing investigation by the police or Health and Safety Executive.
Supporting your ambitions
Chris has helped clients take a strategic view on their exposure to potential "class action" arising from the pandemic and provided a coordinated response to other "once in a decade" events triggering multiple claims. By developing collaborative processes Chris has also been able to introduce streamlined reporting techniques with improved client connectivity (real-time access to claim progress and reserving advice) with resultant cost-savings. Chris also provides consultative support to a number of key clients ensuring they can anticipate likely claim trends and develop their own strategies ahead of time. Recent areas of focus have included the latest regime of Fixed Recoverable Costs in claims valued up to £100,000. In a regulatory context Chris's advice and assistance in dealing with large-scale police investigation of fatal accidents has enabled senior managers to co-operate with those enquiries where in their interests to do so but see no further action taken against them at conclusion. He regularly advises corporate clients in navigating and responding to investigations by the Health and Safety Executive. The fundamental goal for Chris is to put clients at the heart of their claims and litigation.
What do others say
"Chris’s personal input has been most keenly felt in helping us to defend high value claims. He has closely advised our in-house team members as well as providing strong support and communication across the other stakeholders involved in all aspects of our insurance programme."
Darren Hill, Head of Claims United Utilities Legal Department
What else should you know
Chris has applied his "risk management" focus to some personal development. In need of a hobby, he decided to learn to ride a motorbike. Trips so far include Norway, Scotland, Italy (via France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland) and South Wales and he's loving the freedom (even in the Scottish “summer”).
