What can I do for you
Eve is a principal associate in Mills & Reeve’s national construction, engineering and energy practice, specialising in contentious construction with almost 10 years’ post‑qualification experience. She advises local, national and international clients on managing and resolving complex construction and engineering disputes, with a strong emphasis on early risk management and dispute avoidance.
Eve has solid experience across the energy and built environment sectors, including nuclear new‑build and decommissioning, gas infrastructure, wind and solar schemes, battery storage, ground‑source heat projects and utilities. She also works on major projects involving waste treatment facilities, data centres, airports, warehousing and distribution centres, and local authority developments.
Direct, pragmatic and commercially focused, Eve is known for translating technical legal issues into clear, plain‑English advice. Her expertise spans adjudication, mediation and court proceedings, and she brings strong attention to detail and excellent organisation to helping project teams navigate challenging situations and achieve commercially aligned outcomes.
Supporting your ambitions
Whilst clients do not plan to find themselves in disputes, construction and engineering projects can face real challenges. Additionally, project teams can unexpectedly need additional legal support to protect delivery, manage risk and safeguard margins. Eve helps clients navigate these moments with clarity and confidence, ensuring they understand the implications of emerging issues and have strategies in place that reflect their commercial priorities.
Her work includes guiding clients through strategically important adjudications, including helping one client secure a significant adjudication win followed by a favourable settlement agreement. She also uses contractual mechanisms to manage counterparties effectively and avoid formal dispute processes altogether.
Furthermore, Eve supports clients through technically complex issues, including coordinating the right expert input. For instance, she identified a specialist consultant to investigate defects, advise on appropriate remedial options and support the recovery of costs from the responsible parties.
She advises on live project issues, change management and distressed situations, and when formal action becomes necessary, develops tailored approaches across adjudication, mediation and court processes that balance risk, cost and commercial objectives.
Well‑versed in NEC, FIDIC and JCT forms, and known for clear, commercially attuned advice, Eve focuses firmly on outcomes which help clients protect their interests and keep their projects moving in the right direction.
