What can Ian do for you?
Ian is an associate within the insurance disputes team. He frequently defends claims brought against solicitors, barristers, brokers, accountants and construction professionals.
Supporting my clients' ambitions
Whilst at his previous firm, Ian assisted with the successful appeal to the Supreme Court in the case of Perry v Raleys Solicitors, which was the first occasion the Supreme Court had considered the correct approach to issues of loss of chance.
Ian's work highlights include:
- representing solicitors and barristers in lost litigation cases, particularly those arising from personal injury actions
- representing brokers in claims arising from alleged late notification of insurers
- representing accountants in claims arising from alleged negligent tax advice
What do others say?
Ian recently acted on a claim against a QC, which was struck out. The QC commented that the standard of service had "been fantastic from the outset". Ian also recently acted on a claim against an insolvency practitioner, which was abandoned following a robust letter of response with his insurer client commenting "your excellent letter clearly saw them off".
What else should you know?
Ian is one of the organisers of "Why Not Wednesday", which is a popular young professionals networking event co-hosted by Mills & Reeve in Manchester.
