What can I do for you

Matthew is part of our insurance team, acting for a wide variety of professionals and their insurers in defence of claims against them. He has acted for lawyers, surveyors, IFAs, insurance brokers, accountants and surgeons, but particularly specialises in claims against financial professionals and surgeons. Matthew also advises insurers in respect of coverage matters.

Supporting your ambitions

Matthew has conducted numerous pieces of litigation raising a wide range of issues. Highlights include a (successful) trip to the Court of Appeal to defeat a £1 million+ claim and devising an exit strategy for solicitors from a complex trust dispute that involved multiple parties and various technical legal points. Litigation would have cost insurers significant sums and brought unwanted stress to their insured, but a practical and proactive approach meant that a settlement was concluded which significantly reduced insurers’ potential exposure and left all parties to the dispute satisfied with the outcome.
