Nathan is a solicitor in our construction, engineering and energy disputes team. He has acted for a range of stakeholders across the construction and engineering sectors including employers, main contractors and specialist subcontractors. Nathan has acted for clients in adjudication, arbitration and litigation, with significant experience in disputes related to defective building works, payment notices and delay.
Since joining Mills & Reeve, Nathan has worked closely with the well-established transactional surety team, developing expertise in defending construction bond claims made by beneficiaries against sureties in circumstances where the bonded principal has become insolvent.
Nathan also has experience in fire safety defect claims made pursuant to the Building Safety Act 2022, and keeps up to date on developing case law in this area.

Nathan takes a measured, methodical, and proportionate approach to dispute resolution. He has acted for clients in litigation in respect of defective works claims related to the Building Safety Act 2022, and has particular knowledge of building liability orders. Nathan also has acted for a UHNW individual regarding defective works to a high specification residential extension, which culminated in a highly contested final account adjudication. He has also defended multiple large telecommunications companies in adjudications brought in respect of payment.
Nathan's tactically astute approach has allowed clients to find novel and strategically advantageous solutions to their disputes, which cannot be achieved in court. If litigation is required, Nathan is detail oriented and experienced in all phases of litigation, from statements of case through to trial.
