What can Nick do for you?

Nick is a specialist family solicitor with over 25 years of experience and heads up our national family law team across the firm. His expertise is based around complex financial cases involving family businesses, farms and trusts. He also has considerable experience in the drafting of pre and post marital agreements, cohabitation disputes and private Children Act proceedings.

Supporting your ambitions

Most clients wish to reach a negotiated settlement that is fair to both sides. Nick knows that you need to be listened to in how your case is approached. As a firm, we do not believe in a one size fits all approach. What is right for one client is not right for another. Some cases can be resolved through negotiation, mediation or collaborative law; others need the involvement of the court. As far as Nick is concerned, a great outcome for the client is one in which they are fully involved, having received clear and straightforward advice.

What do others say?

“Nick Stone is first class; he is highly regarded as one of the best matrimonial lawyers in East Anglia.”

"Nick Stone is experienced in alternative dispute resolution. He stands out for his 'constructive' approach with one source noting 'he is very proportionate and able to see the bigger picture' and is 'adept at navigating through a complex case'."

What else should you know?

Part of Nick’s practice involves landed estates and manager owner businesses; he has drawn on that experience in co-authoring Divorce and the Farm and Divorce and the Family Business. He also recently co-authored Counting the Cost of Cohabitation, which provides a helpful summary for the unmarried family. Nick lectures other professionals on family law, usually concerning financial matters on divorce.
