We have years of experience of successfully advising entities operating in the renewable and sustainable energies sector. This including advising:

  • A German EPC contractor in dispute with its employer on an energy from waste treatment facility procured under the FIDIC form.
  • An NHS trust on the development of a biofuel energy centre to serve the hospital. We worked on key regulatory issues such as the applicability of relevant government initiatives, ROCS and carbon saving requirement. We also advised on the negotiation of the energy services contract which covered both the operation of the concession and the terms of energy supply to the site.
  • Turners Turkeys Limited and Bernard Matthews Limited on the UK's largest biomass project. This involved the roll out of 179 biomass boilers to be installed across 21 turkey farm sites in Norfolk, Suffolk and Lincolnshire with energy partner Lumicity Limited. Funding was secured for the project from a UK Green Investment Bank via its energy saving investments fund.
  • Adnams Plc on the establishment of an anaerobic digester facility including negotiation of commercial agreements and lease.
  • On a $7million claim concerning the alleged wrong specification of transformers to a wind farm in Mongolia.
