As part of the response to the Grenfell fire tragedy, the Government has announced that the limitation period for bringing a claim under the Defective Premises Act (DPA) will be extended from 6 to 15 years. The change will be introduced via the Building Safety Bill. Nothing in the bill limits this change to cladding or fire related issues.
