Helping you to navigate immigration rules

We provide advice to businesses and educational institutions on a wide range of UK immigration and nationality issues. Our experience of the immigration system, together with our ability to call on local experts in foreign jurisdictions, means that we can help our clients flourish in the global marketplace.

Our services cover five main areas:

  • Compliance – keeping abreast of frequently updated immigration rules and guidance can be difficult, so we provide audit and other support services to help you manage compliance and mitigate your risks
  • Visa applications – we help you resolve recruitment issues and assist with applications under Tiers 1, 2, and 5 of the points-based system and the various visitor categories
  • Education sector services – we advise our education clients on their duties under Tier 4 of the points-based system
  • Sponsor licence applications – we help clients register as sponsors under the points-based system
  • Training – we provide training for clients, including for Key Personnel

As clients need widely differing levels of service, we will work closely with you to identify exactly what you require.
And because we recognise that controlling costs is important, we provide fee estimates before undertaking any work and, where possible, offer a fixed price.

Our lawyers

  • We are ranked in Band 1 of Legal 500 for our immigration expertise.

  • Our employment immigration lawyers are also specialist employment lawyers. This combined experience enables us to provide comprehensive and fully informed advice on all aspects of employing and engaging migrant workers.
  • Our Tier 4 immigration lawyers are specialist full spectrum education lawyers, meaning that we don’t operate in a vacuum and can advise institutions on Tier 4 matters informed by the wider context of your contractual relationship with students, governance matters and other regulatory issues.

Our immigration experience includes:

  • Assisting an NHS Trust and a national media organisation in registering as sponsors under the points based system
  • Advising a large private company on issues arising from a corporate acquisition involving the TUPE transfer of migrant employees. This included advising on UKVI reporting requirements and the appropriate group company sponsor structure.
  • Advising higher education institutions on solutions for the recruitment of migrant academic researchers
  • Conducting compliance audits for two higher education institutions in preparation for a Home Office compliance visit and drafting immigration policies and procedures.
  • Preparing applications for leave to remain under Tiers 1, 2 and 5 of the points-based system and under the visitor categories
  • Advising on a returning resident application for a migrant with indefinite leave to remain in the UK
  • Advising a large company on the recruitment of a migrant Chief Executive Officer
  • Providing bespoke training for HR teams, managers and Key Personnel
  • Providing urgent advice to a higher education institution on an ex-parte High Court injunction obtained by a student as a consequence of the institution’s refusal to grant a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies on the basis that to do so would have been contrary to its sponsorship duties. Our advice led to the injunction being set aside by the court the next day.
  • Advising higher education institutions in connection with various Tier 4 (international student sponsorship) issues, including utilising the UKVI concept of “branch structures”, reporting duties concerning overseas recruitment agent activities, and the renewal of Higher Trusted Sponsor status
