We've partnered with UK SCALE Centre to drive supply chain innovation

We've become the first Midlands-based company to join the UK SCALE Centre’s flagship membership network, The Supply Chain Futures Forum.

We join a select group of members in the invite-only forum, which brings together senior supply chain leaders from across the UK to help shape the future of innovation across a broad range of sectors.

As part of the UK SCALE partnership, we'll work alongside academic and industry leaders to address emerging and complex supply chain challenges both in the UK and globally through exclusive research project, events and executive education.

Simon Garbett, partner at Mills & Reeve in the Midlands, said: “Supply chains have come under increasing scrutiny and pressure in recent years, as economic uncertainty, ethical and ESG challenges, and geo-political tensions have tested the transparency, resilience, and responsiveness of global networks to the absolute limit. Supply chains have become a strategic priority for many businesses.

“These complexities remain a real and present threat. As such, it’s essential that we work collaboratively, bringing together industries, economies, policymakers, and academics, to address those issues and drive positive change through innovation and bolder thinking. Our partnership with UK SCALE will unlock fantastic opportunities, not only for our people, but for the wider sector, and we’re really excited to be part of such a forward-looking initiative.”

The Supply Chain Futures Forum is part of UK SCALE – the UK Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence Centre (SCALE) – a national hub for supply chain innovation, research and education. Founded in 2024 by Loughborough University, in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Centre for Transport & Logistics, UK SCALE is part of the MIT Global SCALE Network – a unique international alliance advancing supply chain leadership across four continents.

Professor Jan Godsell, Director of the UK SCALE Centre and Dean of Loughborough Business School, said: “The Supply Chain Futures Forum is not simply another industry network. It is a dynamic and reflective space where senior supply chain leaders have the time, structure and intellectual challenge to stress-test their strategy in an increasingly complex global environment.

“Through a combination of leading-edge research, peer-to-peer dialogue and practical insight, the Forum creates the mechanisms to sharpen decision-making and future-proof supply chain strategy.”

She adds: “As sectors such as automotive navigate regulatory change, sustainability pressures and digital transformation, access to both global insight and specialist expertise is critical. We’re delighted to be welcoming Mills & Reeve to the forum, strengthening the breadth of perspective available to our members and enhancing our collective ability to shape the next generation of supply chain leadership.”
