Our team has acted for owners, developers, funders and operators so we understand the issues faced by all parties. Work we have carried out includes: 

  • Pre-planning acquisition of the development site, franchise agreement with Hilton, funding agreements, construction documentation and development agreement for the common parts of an estate for a Hampton by Hilton at Royal Docks, London.
  • Site acquisition, pre-let agreement with Whitbread and forward funding agreement for the sale to a pension fund for a Premier Inn at Sunderland University.
  • Advising on the acquisition of 15 Jurys Inn hotels and subsequent intra-group reorganisation for a large international hotel owner.
  • Advising an international hotel brand on trading agreements in the run up to the opening of their new London property, including advising on concession agreements and spa services.
  • A conditional contract for the acquisition of the development site and the franchise agreement, hotel management agreement and promotional agreement for a Holiday Inn Express at Event City, Manchester followed by the sale to an overseas investor on practical completion.
  • Advised a pension fund on the acquisition of a large central London 5* hotel, value of approximately £120m, with the grant of a long income leaseback to the hotel operator.
