Emerging talent

Start your legal career with an exceptional, award-winning firm, where you're treated as an individual and part of the team from day one.

Be part of it

The term “emerging talent” encompasses anyone who is pre-qualification, including:

Trainee solicitors

You’ll complete the SQE preparation course and the SQE exams before starting the trainee solicitor role. Once you begin the trainee role, you’ll have the opportunity to gain experience across six different teams (known as seats) over the course of two years.

Degree apprentices

Your training journey will span six years, where you'll combine working and studying. You’ll dedicate one day per week to initially study for your LLB, followed by study for the SQE. During the first two years you will work in one team, moving to your second team in year three and third team in year four. In your final two years, you will rotate around various teams every four months.

Be challenged

Deciding you want to start a training contract or solicitor apprenticeship has probably been a big decision and involved lots of hard work. Of course, you want all the usual benefits that come with working for a top-rated law firm, but you also want to know what you'll really be doing.

You've worked hard to get to this point, and we know that you're keen to do some real work.

We want you to experience what it's like working for a leading law firm. While supporting our top specialist lawyers, you will create professional relationships with clients that will last throughout your career.

We strive to be responsive, attentive lawyers that offer pragmatic and commercial advice to our clients. We consider ourselves a leader in client experience. We haven’t received a 95% client recommendation score for any less! Put simply, we'll teach you how to become that lawyer!

Be happy

Be part of it means being part of a vibrant and supportive community. You’ll have the chance to attend firmwide events, socials and networking opportunities, helping you build meaningful connections not just within your cohort, but across the wider firm.

Be supported

We understand that promoting good mental health and wellbeing also means supporting people to take care of their physical, financial, and digital health. As well as giving people a safe environment in which to work, our wellbeing programme focuses on education, awareness, and providing support and resources.

As our firm grows, we’re committed to ensuring that we have a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we live and work in. Our staff networks are open to anyone to join, as someone who is directly impacted by their work but also for staff who are interested in being an ally.

Furthermore, you also have access to benefits that appeal to you, including enhanced family forming pay, extra leave for life events, such as moving house or getting married, and even leasing a bicycle. We also offer an equal staff bonus based on the firm’s financial performance.

Be empowered

As part of either our trainee and apprenticeship routes, you’ll join the Empower training programme.

This is an in-house learning programme which will set you up with the right skills and learning for success. The Empower programme is designed to be collaborative and future-focused:

  • Your first experience will be an inclusive and immersive multi-day off-site induction at the Møller Institute, where all new apprentices and trainees get to know each other as one cohort and start building the knowledge and skills needed to set yourself up for success. From there, you’ll progress through tailored modules aligned with your apprenticeship or training contract.
  • In second year, you’ll dive into "Collaboration Challenge: Driving Success Through Technology", working along our legal tech and data teams to develop innovative projects. Additional modules will follow this to prepare you for post-qualification responsibilities.
  • Our flexible range of core and opt-in modules give individuals an element of control over training and development.
  • Opportunities for client secondments (subject to availability).
  • Variation in learning formats help suit the individual and team needs.
