What can Claire do for you?
Claire heads the Environmental Team at Mills & Reeve and advises on contentious and non-contentious environmental and energy matters and has a wealth of experience in areas such as contaminated land, waste management, brownfield development, environmental permitting, energy regulation, chemicals regulation, site decommissioning and development. She advises on various aspects of environmental liability, regulatory compliance, risk transfer and strategic sensitive environment issues at domestic and EU level.
Supporting your ambitions
Claire has acted on some of the UK’s major regeneration schemes, formulating appropriate enforcement-based and due diligence strategies (including appointing and instructing environmental consultants), advising on relevant legislative implications and advising on, drafting and negotiating suitable risk transfer mechanisms. An equally important part of her practice is the representation of organisations and directors when facing Environment Agency or other regulatory enforcement action. In addition, Claire provides bespoke advice to companies on a wide range of regulatory regimes including environmental permitting, waste regulation including end of waste criteria and transfrontier shipments, statutory nuisance, water pollution, producer responsibility, REACH and emissions trading.
Claire excels in client experience. She is known for her personable approach and the rapport she builds with her clients. Claire will get to know you and your business to ensure that she becomes an extension of your team, supporting your ambitions and not simply your “external” lawyer.
