Matt was a key part of the team that successfully acted in the reported case of Mears Ltd v Costplan Services (South East) Ltd  EWHC 3363 (TCC) regarding the correct meaning of practical completion under a building contract.
Matt has also assisted a major UK contractor in settling a multi-million pound claim by its employer for liquidated damages. This matter involved detailed analysis of the final certificate process under a JCT standard form of contract and considering the best tactical approach to be adopted in the litigation process, which resulted in a commercial settlement being reached between the parties following a mediation.
