The new Electronic Communications Code came into force in December 2017. It gave new powers to telecoms operators and it changed how the consideration is calculated.

Our team of experts provide national coverage from our seven offices, with a wealth of experience in dealing with transactions and issues arising out of the code and its predecessor.

Our team brings in-depth specialist experience in this complex and fast-moving area: 

  • Acting for a global corporation in connection with the removal of telecoms equipment from its UK headquarters to enable redevelopment, covering issues under the code.

  • Acting for a university to remove telecoms apparatus to enable a multi-million pound regeneration programme.

  • Advising a range of real estate clients including institutional investors, public and private sector funds, education institutions and charities on telecoms agreements and wayleaves as well as telecoms-related risks on the acquisition, disposal and leasing of properties.
