Mills & Reeve recognised as one of the most innovative law firms in Europe

Leading UK law firm Mills & Reeve has been ranked 36th in the top 50 most innovative law firms in Europe by the Financial Times.

This is the first time the firm has been included in the top 50 of the FT Innovative Lawyers, although it has featured prominently in the highly regarded annual report over the last seven years.

This year the firm was commended in two categories: strategy and changing behaviours, and new products and services.

Describing the hugely successful innovation week, the report states: "[Mills & Reeve] implemented a programme to encourage innovation in the firm that includes a hub built on the Crowdicity platform. Multiple ideas have been posted and voted on, nearly 75 per cent of which have been developed."

And on the successful Friday Fraud initiative: "According to the UK’s Solicitors Regulation Authority, 75 per cent of all reported cybercrimes in 2016 were 'Friday afternoon frauds', when large sums are handled at the completion of property conveyancing transactions, worth a total of £85 million. [Mills & Reeve] has set up a service with insurance client Pen Underwriting to streamline responses to notification of a fraud, reducing reaction time and recouping more 50 per cent of its 2018 losses, amounting to £2.5m."
