This typically includes wills and trusts, tax advice, and family business planning. Within the team, Jacob specialises in helping clients with an international element to their needs. This includes assets located abroad, non-UK trusts, or clients originally from overseas.
Supporting your ambitions
Many of Jacob’s clients have holiday homes or other assets abroad. Jacob’s experience dealing with foreign jurisdictions, and Mills & Reeve’s international network of "best friend" firms, enable Jacob to take a global view to protect his clients’ assets for their spouses and their children.
The same is equally true for clients based outside the UK, but who have assets here – particularly real estate. Jacob’s wealth of knowledge on this subject helps his clients find the best ways to structure their assets within the family, whether this involves split ownership, a family trust, or a corporate structure.
What else should you know?
Jacob initially trained and worked in London, where he advised offshore trustees and HNW and UHNW families in Asia and the Middle East on complex UK-property ownership structures. He moved to Birmingham to make more time for his young family.
